BSME in Dubai.
The British international school Jeddah sent their football team to Dubai for the BSME tournament.
Captain Wilson stamped his authority on the pitch, after playing some very tough matches in the opening round. BISJ qualified for the Quarter Finals.
Wilson top goal scorer for BISJ played some inspiring football to lead the team into the semi-finals, after a convincing win against Decca.
JCFC met their old rivals "St Christopher's of Bahrain" in the semi-finals and were beaten 1 - 0, after a controversial referee decision. St Christopher's benefitted from the huge error, slamming home the penalty in the final seconds of play.
BISJ can keep their heads up though, since they played some excellent football, with some inspirational moves.
St Christopher's eventually won in the final. Well done to all who took part.

Sun Setters Tournament - Silver Medal Winners!
Sun Setters FC hosted a tournament at the BISJ, which included KAUST and JCFC.
All the teams put in a great performance with Sun Setters playing exceptional football throughout. The tournament was professionally run by Mr Ralston with referring by Mr Hammel.
About to win the ball |
Great run |
Lovely footwork |
Wilson was Captain of the Red Team, who easily got through to the final winning all the group matches comfortably.
Sun Setters Red's were screaming for a penalty when Luke Wilson flew down the right wing and went down under a sliding challenge from Aboudi Chams, but referee Hammel correctly ruled the defender had just got the ball first.
Sharbel fed Wilson into the left side of the box, and the strikers low, angled drive squirmed under Malik's arm for the Captain's first goal.
Stunning Shot |
Wilson chipped a pass into the box which was taken by Malek , whose passed it back to Wilson whose next touch was to calmly stroke the ball into the bottom corner.
The final was played against JCFC team A (Wilson's other team) and they won with a convincing performance.
Silver Medal - Great performance |
All in all a great day of football, with the supporters fully entertained.

BISJ Tournament Pre Dubai
BISJ hosted a mini tournament pre Dubai for training purposes.
The opposition, which consisted of players from Team 2 and 3 and some Y7’s put in a great performance and made it difficult for BISJ team 1 to control the match.Much composure was needed for us to secure the victory, and I am happy to report that with some solid, fluid play we were able to overcome this very stiff opposition.
Well done boys and bring on Dubai!
Captain Luke Wilson led his team to a fairly comfortable victory, scoring twice.

Going for Goal! No 1!! |
KAUST Football Competition - JCFC Champions
JCFC travelled to KAUST for a football competition.
Lovely play fantastic to watch! |
KAUST were fantastic hosts and the football played was exceptional.
JCFC 1 Vrs KAUST 2.
Wilson’s opening stunner ensured progression into round two. A call for a penalty late on in the second half was waved away by the referee, much to the amusement of the visiting supporters, because it was clearly a penalty as Wilson who was lined up for his second was brought down in the box with a terrible lunge from their number 2. He was very quick to apologise and play continued! Great opening performance from the team.
Nice control |
Great Shot for Goal |
JCFC 1 Vrs JCFC 2 .
This second round sensation was the semi-final, with both teams putting in a great performance. JCFC 1 took control early on with a nice goal from Aboudi and they stayed on top for most of the match. JCFC 2 didn’t look capable of scoring. Wilson who was injured from his first game, took a rest in the first half, but came on in the second to cement victory scoring a fabulous goal to ensure that JCFC 1 were in the final.
Again good contol and a beautiful turn. |
JCFC 1 Vrs KAUST 1.
JCFC started very strong with some great play and effective passing of the ball. They scored an amazing goal to secure victory in the final. KAUST have significantly improved and will be a force to reckon with in the coming months and next season especially. Well done to all the players for some fantastic football which was thoroughly entertaining for the spectators.
Here we go again! |
Sun Setters Training Term 2 BISJ
Mr Ralston and Mr Gould, started a football club called “Sun Setters”. We trained all the way through term 2 at BISJ and it culminated in a football tournament with Kaust and JCFC.
Practising Scoring |
All the boys worked really hard to improve their skills. Their abilities have significantly improved.
Practising Heading the Ball |
We worked on passing, defending, attacking and shooting.
Practise Match - Great Goal Coming |
Passed the huge defender for a stunning goal! |
I got an awful lot from it and hope that it will continue in term 3.
The Cup Is Coming Home!!
After an earlier post explaining that Captain Luke Wilson steered his team Manchester United in the league, to finish clearly on top of the table. I thought I would post this photo of the cup ceremony held here in Jeddah.
Cup Ceremony In Jeddah |
