Final Saudi Based Tournament This Season for JCFC.

JCFC emerge victorious in the final tournament held at fireball this season.

Loads of Space!  Great Cross for the first Goal!

The team played some tough competition in the group stages, but easily advanced into the Quarter Finals, finishing second in Group A.  Jeddah Prep finished top with 1 point extra.
The Quarter Final match was played against our old adversaries Jeddah United who finished top of Group B.  We easily beat them 3 - 0, with a fantastic team performance.

Lovely strike for goal in the Quarters.

The Semi Final was played against Jeddah City Team B.  We effortlessly moved into the final which was to be played against Jeddah Prep.
The final was some of the best  end to end football seen to date, with Wilson playing his heart out!  Switching positions constantly from Centre to Left.  The opposition could not read the play at all and we out played them.

Championship Medal Ceremony!

This has been a great season and more information will follow from Jeddah City Football Club International tour of Scotland in 5 weeks.  Until then it's train, train and more training!

Another Sun Setters FC stunner!

In 44 degree heat, Sun Setters football club put on a match that any Premiership club would have been proud of!

Lovely Shot Passed the Defender

Despite the heat, the goals came thick fast and furious!

No holding him back when he is on a roll!

The spectators were sweating just watching the speedy end to end play.  In fact, for most of the game Wilson was running around like a flash! In credible football!

This is probably the most entertaining game that I have seen all season.  The precision passing was perfection, (none of this hoof it up the field and hope someone gets on the end of it)!  Each pass was aimed at a particular player, picked up and passed onto the next!  Stunning!!  The goals were awe-inspiring , the positional play was splendid and the coaching by Mr James Ralston was magnificent .
This is a great run!

Just got there!  Can he finish?

Yes he can!
You could not pick a "man of the match", as all the players played out of their skin, so they all deserved the award!
Watch out other teams in Jeddah, if this football club continues next season and I really hope it does, then you are in big trouble!

Sun Setters Week 3 Matches

A thrilling three matches this week for the Sun Setters Football Club.

Start of the 1st Goal

Match 1 ended in a drubbing of the 2nd team.  Wilson scored two fantastic goals, one of which was neatly placed into the bottom right hand corner.  He could have hoofed it, but elected to play round the goal keeper and place it with precision.  Goal of the tournament for me!

Nice run through!
Match 2 was another drubbing for the 2nd team.   Luke played in mid-field and totally dominated the middle of the park.  Some great passing and holding play were displayed.   The team were very fluid throughout and it was most enjoyable to watch.

Lovely tackle to steal the ball
Match 3 ending in a thrashing by the 2nd team.  For some unknown reason Luke played in defence as Central Defender.  We didn't seem to have a strike force anymore.  Most of the game was played in our own half.   I personally think Team A gave up.  The goals came thick, fast and furious.  Wilson did manage to score all be it in his own net!

One of the many goals.  This one off the post!

Great tournament though and enjoyed by all the spectators.
Great Left Footed shot for Goal!
Keep up the good work!

Sunsetters FC Match 2

Another goal fest, that was wonderful to watch.

If you would have seen where he ran from!

Since they are a brand new team, their shape and fluidity of play is outstanding!  It exciting to watch and you can't help but feel for any opposition that they face, since they are formidable, when playing their great style of football.
Loads of time and space
Again Luke opened with a fantastic goal, that saw him oust the defending team easily.

He ran from his back line, the length of the field to produce this stunner, which had the other team spectating really!  It was great to watch!!!

Lovely Turn for Goal

I think all the kids will get a lot from this Football Club and Mr Ralston is an excellent football coach, who seems to build on the kids strengths!

Goal of the match for me!

Well done everyone!

Sunsetters FC Opener for Term 3

Luke played in the Centre Mid Field position, in this thrilling opening match for term 3 of the Sunsetters Football Club.  Luke's team easily beat the opposition in what turned out to be a goal frenzy.

Here we go!

The first was pure skill and a master class of great passing.  Omar delivered the ball, Luke Wilson finds the back of the net with a headed goal from deep inside the penalty area.  1 - 0.  Beautiful!

Great run - Left the defence for dead!

Luke took a shot which was blocked and goes out for a corner.  The inswinging corner was taken by Luke, left-footed from the right corner and Sharbel found the back of the net with a goal from the edge of the area to the top right corner of the goal.  2 - 0, Shocking!

Get passed this guy, then a beautiful cross coming!

A cross is delivered by Luke Wilson.  Ramsie fired in a close range goal to the bottom left hand corner of the goal. 3 - 0.  Powerful!

Great Cross coming and great goalkeeping from Jeries!

The ball was crossed by Sharbel.  Luke Wilson got on the end of it a scored a screecher with a volley from the edge of the penalty area to the bottom left hand corner.  Stunning!

Here's the cross!

Great opening match!

BSME in Dubai.

The British international school Jeddah sent their football team to Dubai for the BSME tournament.

The Team
Captain Wilson stamped his authority on the pitch, after playing  some very tough matches in the opening round.  BISJ qualified for the Quarter Finals.

Wilson top goal scorer for BISJ played some inspiring football to lead the team into the semi-finals, after a convincing win against Decca.

Great run for a great goal!
JCFC met their old rivals "St Christopher's of Bahrain" in the semi-finals and were beaten 1 - 0, after a controversial referee decision.  St Christopher's benefitted from the huge error, slamming home the penalty in the final seconds of play.

Fantastic Strike
BISJ can keep their heads up though, since they played some excellent football, with some inspirational moves.

St Christopher's eventually  won in the final.  Well done to all who took part.

Sun Setters Tournament - Silver Medal Winners!

Sun Setters FC hosted a tournament at the BISJ, which included KAUST and JCFC.

All the teams put in a great performance with Sun Setters playing exceptional football throughout.  The tournament was professionally run by Mr Ralston with referring by Mr Hammel.

About to win the ball

Great run

Lovely footwork

Wilson was Captain of the Red Team, who easily got through to the final winning all the group matches comfortably.

Sun Setters Red's were screaming for a penalty when Luke Wilson flew down the right wing and went down under a sliding challenge from Aboudi Chams, but referee Hammel correctly ruled the defender had just got the ball first.

Sharbel fed Wilson into the left side of the box, and the strikers low, angled drive squirmed under Malik's arm for the Captain's first goal.

Stunning Shot

Wilson chipped  a pass into the box which was taken by Malek , whose passed it back to Wilson whose next touch was to calmly stroke the ball into the bottom corner.

The final was played against JCFC team A (Wilson's other team) and they won with a convincing performance.

Silver Medal - Great performance

All in all a great day of football, with the supporters fully entertained.

BISJ Tournament Pre Dubai

BISJ hosted a mini tournament pre Dubai for training purposes.

Captain Luke Wilson led his team to a fairly comfortable victory, scoring twice.
Lovely play

The opposition, which consisted of players from Team 2 and 3 and some Y7’s put in a great performance and made it difficult for BISJ team 1 to control the match.
Much composure was needed for us to secure the victory, and I am happy to report that with some solid, fluid play we were able to overcome this very stiff opposition.
Well done boys and bring on Dubai!

Going for Goal!  No 1!!

KAUST Football Competition - JCFC Champions

JCFC travelled to KAUST for a football competition.
Lovely play fantastic to watch!
KAUST were fantastic hosts and the football played was exceptional.
JCFC  1 Vrs KAUST 2.
Wilson’s opening stunner ensured progression into round two.  A call for a penalty late on in the second half was waved away by the referee, much to the amusement of the visiting supporters, because it was clearly a penalty as Wilson who was lined up for his second was brought down in the box with a terrible lunge from their number 2.  He was very quick to apologise and play continued!  Great opening performance from the team.

Nice control
Great Shot for Goal
JCFC 1 Vrs JCFC 2 .
This second round sensation was the semi-final, with both teams putting in a great performance.  JCFC 1 took control early on with a nice goal from Aboudi and they stayed on top for most of the match.  JCFC 2 didn’t look capable of scoring.  Wilson who was injured from his first game, took a rest in the first half, but came on in the second to cement victory scoring a fabulous goal to ensure that JCFC 1 were in the final.

Again good contol and a beautiful turn.
JCFC 1 Vrs KAUST 1.
JCFC started very strong with some great play and effective passing of the ball.  They scored an amazing goal to secure victory in the final.  KAUST have significantly improved and will be a force to reckon with in the coming months and next season especially.  Well done to all the players for some fantastic football which was thoroughly entertaining for the spectators.
Here we go again!

Sun Setters Training Term 2 BISJ

Mr Ralston and Mr Gould, started a football club called “Sun Setters”.  We trained all the way through term 2 at BISJ and it culminated in a football tournament with Kaust and JCFC.

Practising Scoring
All the boys worked really hard to improve their skills.  Their abilities have significantly improved.

Practising Heading the Ball
We worked on passing, defending, attacking and shooting.
Practise Match - Great Goal Coming

Passed the huge defender for a stunning goal!
I got an awful lot from it and hope that it will continue in term 3.

The Cup Is Coming Home!!

After an earlier post explaining that Captain Luke Wilson steered his team Manchester United in the league, to finish clearly on top of the table.  I thought  I would post this photo of the cup ceremony held here in Jeddah.

Cup Ceremony In Jeddah
Here’s hoping that Manchester United first team, will win the Premiership and bring the real cup home.  Good luck United!!!
One day maybe the real one will be in my hands!

Manchester United Finish Clearly at the Top of the Table.

Captain Luke Wilson led his team to a well deserved victory during the group stages of the festival of football at the British International School of Jeddah.

Team Roster

With three wins from three, the full nine points were gained.
Lead up to a fantastic Goal!

The interesting fact was that the goal difference of 9 for and 0 against was an incredible feat, by all the team members.
Beginning the run!

Through for the strike -  Stunning Goal

This put Manchester United firmly at the top, where they should have been after some fantastic football, which was appreciated by all the supporters.

Another Great Goal By Wilson

Well done!

BISJ Beat BISR on their home turf to win the Football tournament.

BISJ woke early in the morning (4am), to catch the flight to Riyadh for an excellent tournament that included Football, Netball, Basketball and Athletics.

Team talk before kick off.
BISR 0 - BISJ 1.

Great Strike!
After a slow start in the opening match,  BISJ were being kept in their own half for most of the 1st half.   We defended brilliantly and eventually took charge of the match after Luke scored a great goal with a fantastic strike.  0 - 1.

Nice leap - Goalie has no chance
The second was almost in from a corner within a couple of minutes after Wilson gained great height, but his header was caught by the keeper.   0 - 1.

Getting ready for the corner!

Look at that leap!  Nice hands Goalie!
BISR 2 - BISJ 3

Great Tackling
The final, which was thrilling end to end football, saw the home side open the score line, with a great strike.   1 - 0.

Here we go!

BISJ quickly composed themselves and   Wilson equalised with a very impressive shot, that left the keeper absolutely no chance.  1 - 1.

Left footed strike - Amazing!

Laith scored another sitter, which was laid on by Luke, to have the home side wobbling.  1 - 2.
They came back strong and scored making it 2 - 2.

Great Goal!
The final goal, which I believe was the goal of the tournament was scored by Faisal, who controlled the pass from Wilson and shoved it straight over the keepers head.
BISJ Lost the girls Netball and drew in the Basket ball.  All in all a fantastic day was provided by our hosts and they can be proud of such a successful event.

The Champions
All in all a fantastic day out in Riyadh.
